Smartest Cities Study: CH in top

I came across a new study "Cities in Motion", which looks at 135 cities worldwide, and Zurich, Geneva and Basel are all in the top ten:

http://ieseinsight.com/doc.aspx?id=1582&ar=15

"Switzerland is the country with the best results overall, with three of its cities appearing in the top 10."

One surprising fact is that they rate GVA low for International Outreach. I'd love to have their background data, and see how they manage to justify that.

(I'm sure this posting will start yet another "Geneva is Booring" discussion. I hope people will forgive me.)

You shall be forgiven.

Some people just love an opportunity to reiterate their disdain/dislike of a place that somehow they can’t bring themselves to leave, so let the pundits hop on their soap boxes yet again – and maybe right now is better than in the dog-day season.

Its always Geneva, Zurich and Basel. What does Bern rate well in? Well at least the Swiss are well represented. @Ritchie, I do think it is true.

You would think some people were threatened by the Swiss Govt Maffia that if they leave their families would be hunted down and killed. The day I wake up and don't feel like I am super happy to be in this country, I am leaving. 10 years and still waiting for that day to come...

As of yesterday, Geneva is not that bloody smart....2 hours to travel from the airport to Chene-Bourg ....why did they not have some kind of signs further out than at the rail over bridge in town saying there was a parade on.... Unbeleivable smarts !!

You mean that, as a resident of Chêne-Bourg, you weren’t aware that the canton of Geneva was celebrating 200 years of being Swiss and that the traffic was inevitably going to be disrupted?

Well, here are a couple of advance warnings for your diary:

1 August – Switzerland’s National Day, speeches galore, bonfires, and fireworks.

11-12 December

402nd anniversary of the “Escalade”— parties, kids in costume, shop windows full of chocolate cauldrons, huge street parade, and much, much more, not to mention the “Fêtes de Genève”.

Maybe you ought to go on home leave until Christmas?

Courage!  R.

Maybe you could consider emigrating there?  (Not suggesting that Gva wants to lose you though.)
