Snooker Club in Geneva or Lausanne

Does anyone know of a club with a full size snooker table in the Geneva or Lausanne area.

When I say a full size snooker table, I DO mean a 12' x 6" (3.66m x 1.83m) table WITH pockets - NOT some continental billards table or pool table. This picture should help anyone in doubt.

Thanks

I dont know what it's called, but it's not hard to find.  Facing Godivas, go left, past a small suit shop and another bar, there are some double glass doors with arcade machines inside - go in there and its a large snooker hall.  Good place, nice and quiet and good tables.

Would be good to sort an evening out for this - maybe on a regular basis as I'm sure there must be a few of us interested.

Let me know when it suits and we can go and play one evening. Not sure whether you have to book tables?

Looking to do something one evening next week in Geneva. Just need to double check later today with the club that they're okay with reserving both tables for us that night. Once that's been confirmed, I'll post the event.

In the meantime, anyone who'se interested then feel free to join the group.

I realise this is a 10 year old thread!  But did the snooker group ever happen?  Looks like a dead link above - I'd be up for it if so!

Hi Paul. Thanks for your comment. We did have a couple of events but were inundated by people thinking if the potted the black the game was like, over and like, why is the table, like so big? (I kid you not).

Since then, from what I understand (but if anyone knows anything to the contrary then let us know), there are no more public snooker tables in the Swiss Romande area so I guess it won't be happening again.

Hi Rich - thanks for the reply so quick.  Yes despite all my Googling it seems that bizarrely there are no proper snooker tables in the Geneva area!  All pool and billiards by the look of it.

Hilarious/mildly terrifying to hear the comments from the people you mention Laughing!

Must not be a popular game in the area, but I'd have thought there'd be at least one...Anyway, would be great if one is found so we could gether up a few folks for a game :)

What is it they have in the bowling hotel at Signy?

I seem to recall those tables being pretty big but i'm usually just there picking up kids or something and didn't pay attention.

Maybe it's just big pool tables.

Hi John,

That's right. I think the pool tables there are 7' x 3.5' sized. Also not great quality cues and they don't seem to have grasped the concept of having chalk anywhere near.

I've had a look and it seems the nearest actual 12' x 6' snooker table is in Fribourg!
