So what would you do ?

Its christmas, and texts with xmas greetings are flying all over the place, to freinds, family, long lost lovers, etc etc.


Then it comes ... a text from a number you dont recognise that isnt in your phone book and its a from another country ,with xmas greetings unsigned as if they know you. You have no idea who it is from. Your racking your brains.. is it someone I deleted in error, or deliberately ?


The question is what do you do ?


text them back and ask who it is ? and risk upsetting someone ..


reply with the same greeting in the hope they respond again? 


Say nothing , and wonder all day long who it could be ?

I would send my many thanks and warm wishes asking in return who is he /she. The person would not be upsetted as much, as if you wouldn't reply at all. Given that the sent message really means something to him/her.. Smile

Always be honest!  If you don't know who it's from, reply and ask. Who knows..maybe they were just having a fat-finger day and you were not the intended recipient.


If you weren't and they have any broughtupsy, (manners..for those of you not from the Caribbean) they'll reply and thank you so they can send it to the correct person and they in turn won't end up wondering why they didn't get a Christmas greeting! Tongue out

Be careful that you're not replying to an unsolicited Premium SMS service that would charge you more than just the message cost.

I always say that I broke my most recent mobile and lost all my contacts.. so far so good I have never been called out ;)
