Soldering speaker cables

I have four speaker cables, to which I want to attach spade lugs, eight in all.

I have a soldering iron, but no hi-fi grade solder (silver 3-10%, or hard silver strips for butane), and also need crimping.

Anyone out there with this gear, who can help out? :)

Why are you trying to complicate your life?! Just connect the speaker wires directly to whatever you are connecting them. Keep it simple.

Good question. When I bought the spade lugs, it was to simplify connection and disconnection of the cables to speakers and amplifier. Turned out to be more involved to get the spades attached correctly to the cables.

Why do you keep connecting and disconnecting them? Just let them be FFS. Trust me you are better off. And if you insist on soldering them you don't need any snake oil.

I think, you have a point. I will go have a beer instead.

Long story why, let's say a 1-meter optical cable prevented optimal amp placement and wires across the floor, but F it. I'm moving the amp.

If..... you wanna be adding and removing speaker cables on a regular basis go for banana plugs.  Most decent speakers and amps accept them as standard, then you just screw the speaker cable into the banana plugs at each end.

I agree, but I've bought the spade lugs non-returnable. Anyone with some silver solder? :)
