Right now, I have my cds in their jewel cases in a shelf unit from Ikea (the Robin) which they don't seem to make/carry/stock anymore. I also have my dvds, also still in their cases on a book shelf, neatly lined up in alphabetical order.
My dilemma is that my apartment is not huge and it always seems cluttered. A friend of mine suggested that I take the dvds and cds out of their cases and stick them into those big huge media binders. I am quite partial to having them in their cases, but recognize that this would save a whole lot of space.
What do you, out there in the ether, think? Keep them in their cases or take them out?
If I were to take them out of their cases, what do I do with the cases then? Box them and store them in my cave? Throw them away? Ideas and opinions wanted!!!
Thanks so much!

In Spain, I took all the DVD and Video cases to recycling. Here I find the plastic v restricted to waterbottles only (?!), at least what I have found in Paquis.
The paper descriptions of the DVDs, I included in the folders (media binders) I put DVDs in to. Course all that info, and more, is on Net....
