Hello,
we are looking to buy alpine skiing clothing and gear (skis and sticks) for a man and a woman. Can you please help us find sports clothing outlets in or near Lausanne, or across the border in France? Any help much appreciated!

Mira - if you have a car (or even if you don't you can get there by train and bus) try the Oschner Outlet in the Villeneuve Industrial zone. I normally find Oschner a bit overpriced, but the discounts in the outlet store are fantastic.
For outer clothing I only now buy Albright ("made" by Daniel Albrecht - ex Swiss World Cup skier - http://www.daniel-albrecht.ch/). It's comfortable (slightly stretchy), very light, warm as toast and lasts for years - Only Oschner stock it (to my knowledge).
For inner clothing - it's worth a trip to Decathlon (Annemasse or Annecy) and buy their own brand (Quecha) and it's really good quality and very well priced. They do fab Merino wool undergarments and loads of other great stuff and they're just as good and half the price of some of the rip-off labels like Spyder and North Face. I went last week and stocked up on "bits" - top prize was some itouch glove liners for only 5 euros!
Enjoy and hope you find some great stuff!
(Decathlon do really good sunglasses as well!)

Hi, and thank you so much for your tips! We tried GoSport in Thoiry but they asked us to come back in a week or two when they have more stuff for alpine skiing. We ended up going to the Ochsner outlet in Aubonne and got a mad deal for Albright outer clothing, for me, eventually -80% for the top and bottom. On top of the normal discounts they also have -20 % off for everything on the first Friday of each month between 19-21 o'clock. How lucky were we! so thanks Carolyn C for the brand recommendation. Will try Decathlon on another day. Today we also got loads of other stuff - what a day!!

If you don't mind used equipment you can get pretty cheap sometimes at Cash Converters, or there is a Croix-Rouge second-hand shop next to police station close to the tram stop Pont D'Arve

Thanks, good to know! At this point we are looking for men's outer wear, which is turning out to be quite a task, unless you want to buy this year's collection, which we don't. We visited the Ochsner store in Villeneuve already and are headed towards Chamonix. Any other places we should check?

There is also Ochsner in Rue de Confederation, close to EA office. Migros has also a sports store, I guess it's XXL, and you can get 10% discount with a coupon.

Hi there, we are just arrived from Australia so im definitely a novice on ski related purchases but on the recommendation of a friend we just went to a local 'bourse au ski' and kitted out our 3 year old. They had an incredible range of everything for all ages and some absolute bargains. I found this list at http://www.toutleski.com/bourse-aux-skis/ for upcoming dates including Annemasse and Annecy.
