Sports training - music ideas

I am looking for the best music to train to - I love Faithless, however most of their songs need 30secs or more to really start.  Songs like Thunderstruck by AC/DC are also a bit slow to start...

I can go techno for sure, however am looking for more metal inspired if possible - and songs that continue the tempo throughout the song.

Ideas of groups or ind songs would be appreciated - I have added a few ideas

I'm not sure if music during exercise should be too upbeat, you may hurt yourself. But I'll play along.

2 songs from the 1980s; have we finally found something that music from that decade was good for?

Depends if you want heavy, up tempo, heavy up tempo...

Preference on vocal styles? A lot of the heavier stuff ends up with vox not to everyones taste...

Also, are you averse to D&B?

If you want lighter stuff (still considered heavy by most I'd guess) Pantera would be a good bet, Maybe Five Finger Death Punch...Personally at the moment, a tag team of deathcore (Emmure/Carnifex) and dark D&B (Donny, DJ Hidden, Current Value) is doing the trick!

If you don't mind going a little crazier...let me know, I've got plenty :)

Great, thanks to all the posts - pls keep them coming.

I will be looking to my selection of Foo Fighters, linkin park, pantera and Iron maiden collection. Bullet for my Valentine also looks cool

Sorry Massimilano and Edward, however yours were just too commercial.

Matt, perhaps I am just too old to start to like Hatebreed...Frown

Chris, looking for more tempo than heavy - suggestions...

What's wrong with commercial? And how is The Jam more commercial than ACDC? But I get your point; you asked for Metal and I gave you 80s dance/disco.

The thing is that the metal I listen to isn't typically upbeat enough to work out with. And I can't give you Dream Theater because the strange time measures in their songs may make you skip a step and hurt yourself.

Perhaps this is your best choice of Dream Theater songs.

Ok, let's forget commercial stuff ... if u need a sustained music with constant bpm that starts fast immediately and keep going on like that then probably the first Metallica album Kill'em All is what you need.

A little bit mo, but Pink, Katy Perry, and the Killers are all on my workout playlist.  Each more than once.  Work to the rythm, really push it for the chorus and you'll be out of breath well before the end.

Machine Head, Lamb of God? Pretty commercial, but it depends on the tempo/degree of still being able to make out music you're searching for :)
