I presume not needed to be all positive right :-) :
“To love or have loved, that is enough. Ask nothing further. There is no other pearl to be found in the dark folds of life.”
Victor Hugo Les Misérables
“The curse which lies upon marriage is that too often the individuals are joined in their weakness rather than in their strength, each asking from the other instead of finding pleasure in giving. It is even more deceptive to dream of gaining through the child a plenitude, a warmth, a value, which one is unable to create for oneself; the child brings joy only to the woman who is capable of disinterestedly desiring the happiness of another, to one who without being wrapped up in self seeks to transcend her own existence.”
― Simone de Beauvoir, The Second Sex
“Love feels like a great misfortune, a monstrous parasite, a permanent state of emergency that ruins all small pleasures.”
― Slavoj Žižek
“There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche

"Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others, and the delight in the recognition."

Not sure whether I totally agree, but it made me think...

Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind. - from "A Midsummers night dream".
Who ever loved that loved not at first sight? - from "As you like it".

Love is watching the moon rise over the open sleeping landscape and having someone you can call to the window, so you can look together, Love is where you dance with life.

I love you Not only for what you are But for what I am when I am with you
I love you Not only for what You have made of yourself But for what You are making of me.
I love you For the part of me That you bring out;
I love you For putting your hand Into my heaped-up heart And passing over All the foolish, weak things That you can't help Dimly seeing there,
And for drawing out Into the light All the beautiful belongings That no one else had looked Quite far enough to find
I love you because you Are helping me to make Of the lumber of my life
Not a tavern But a temple.
Out of the works Of my every day Not a reproach But a song.
I love you Because you have done More than any creed Could have done To make me good. And more than any fate Could have done To make me happy.
You have done it Without a touch, Without a word, Without a sign.
You have done it By being yourself. Perhaps that is what Being a friend means, After all.

"You say you love rain, but you use an umbrella to walk under it. You say you love sun, but you seek shade when it is shining. You say you love wind, but when it comes you close your window. So that's why I'm scared when you say you love me." (anonymous)

St Paul's description of love in his letter to the Corinthians is wonderful. As an ex- Catholic,it's still fixed in my head.
Sadly,no one ever seems to have read that one( maybe he forgot to put a stamp on?) as Christianity seems to have promoted more hate than love in its history.

maybe it means, that "real" or "enough" love has to be transformative in every way, like the caterpillar turns into a butterfly – o yee =)

Love thyself as thy neighbour
e e cummings ...
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i
John Donne ...
“I am two fools, I know,
For loving, and for saying so.”
and ....
“Come live with me, and be my love,
And we will some new pleasures prove
Of golden sands, and crystal brooks,
With silken lines, and silver hooks.”
....
My face in thine eye, thine in mine appeares,
And true plaine hearts doe in the faces rest,
Where can we finde two better hemispheares
Without sharpe North, without declining West?
What ever dyes, was not mixed equally;
If our two loves be one, or, thou and I
Love so alike, that none doe slacken, none can die.”
