Storytelling

Hi everyone.

I mentioned this to the people who were in café Philo tonight, but I wanted to share this broadly with the rest.
I saw this great experience in Amsterdam it's called Storytelling. It's basically the 'expat' or English-speaking community that meets every month to tell stories.
You have to sign up, there is a limited amount of time for each story, people chose the theme for the next meeting, like when I was there the theme was simply 'It wasn't me' so that should be part of your story or make sense within your story. It has to be something that actually happened to you. So if you think this is a good idea I can create a group for that, or try to figure out how to go about it.
Any ideas or su!
Hope to see you soon.

What a great idea! I can't think of anything better than listening to a load of stories next to a fire during the long winter evenings. You should definitely arrange this.

I'm also a fan and was thinking of getting in touch with the already established Swiss storytelling groups to do and English night. Never got round to it though. You know how life gets in the way. ;)

But I'm glad you brought up the topic.

Check out the Swiss Storytellers.

Hey, well thanks for the replies.

If there is already an ongoing storytelling group it would be great to know more, could you send details? If not, I would be willing to try at least one night and see how it goes, if someone wants to help with finding a place, etc, you're more than welcome!
A bientot!

I'd be happy to help you organize! But we need to maybe find something in between Geneva and Lausanne.

Nyon is a good option. Then I don't have to fight the traffic to get into Geneva. :)

I think we should compromise and do one in Geneva and one either in Nyon or Lausanne, because it is also quite hard for people in Geneva to have to travel to other places, so if we take turns one month in each place everyone's happy, not all of us will have to commute...

I never take the trains. Too filthy. ;)

(J/K. I don't take them because I live out in the sticks with no public transport access so I need a car anyway, not that you all care! :D :D)

Re: Storytelling

Hey, here's a proposal.

Why don't we try and do the first one in Geneva, I can see if we can do it at La Taverne de la République on Rue de Carouge. We can vote the theme here and once we have the theme we can have 4 people to tell stories. I can volunteer to be the host the first night but I don't think I'm really good at it.
We can try to do it the first Thursday of November, for example.

Then the next one we can host in Nyon or Laussane.

Any thoughts, suggestions?
