Subletting?

We are thinking of moving and are wondering about the whole giving 3 months notice thing, I am wondering what my options are if I see a place I like and want to move straight away but not pay two rents... there are always a lot of ads for subletting on Glocals, is this usually allowed or is it done on the sly so to speak? And advice would be very appreciated :)

V,

Subletting is allowed if the regie (the company that managed the rental contracts for your building) approves it. They have their own conditions for approving or not approving.

Many folks don't bother asking for approval, and just do it on the sly.

The sly method is done widely, but it carries a risk: if the person subletting causes damages to the apt, or refuses to leave, or refuses to pay, the real tenant will not get any help from the Regie or the insurance company.

In addition, the unofficial subletter has no recourse if the actual lease-holder decides to keep the security deposit.
