Superfoods in Switzerland?

Hi guys, I'm based in Biel and am looking for some specific food types for my new little fitness regime ;p

I can't find anywhere in Biel that keeps the foods I need/want - does anybody know a place in Switzerland I could pick up the following ingredients from?

Some of the ingredients from here - http://www.navitasnaturals.com/recipes/

Superfood powders

In UK we have organic groceries where I usually find them

Some of my favorite ingredients are spirulina, maca root, chia seed, acai berry, reishi mushroom, cocoa nibs, gogi berries & hemp protein

Would appreciate if anyone know of a place, I'm willing to travel

Thanks, that is good advice.  I dont really want to buy a juicer when I'm only out here for a matter of months but its certainly given me something to think about.

Dude you are the best, I'd love to meet sometime and get some extra info from an insider on this sort of stuff seeing as though you are in the industry

I'm really into my health/fitness and nutrition is something I want to nail in 2011 but it's like MATHS to me - just don't get it ;p

I really need to nail it though and learn about it - superfood powders have been recommend to me from a friend in the states and I'm keen to see know what will work best for me - I guess they are mainly used in shakes right? I think she uses them in that way

There's a Bio Satoriz in Thoiry (France) that might have what you're looking for.  I think you can get there via transit (I've never tried).

i get my stuff at www.myprotein.com - they have a range of quality superfoods at very interesting prices.

They deliver to Switzerland, but personally i have never tried that. I have everything sent to France via "Poste Restante": You pick a french post office of your choice and indicate it as delivery address including your name and "Poste Restante". No need to register at the french post ost prior to the delivery - they will simply receive the shipment and store it for you up to 15 days until you pick up your delivery. You pay EUR 4.- at the post office for the service (much cheaper than shipping costs to CH and the usual taxes, VAT and handling fees by the swiss post).

maybe this helps.

Hi!

I had the same issues a while back so i normally get them at Bio Satoriz in Ferney..its right next to the Carrefour and saturday market, its where i get my chia seeds and random things like almond milk and other things. from Geneva you can get the F bus which on saturdays take you right there, get off at Avenue du jura. The saturday market is pretty cool for fresh produce (expensive for france but still cheaper than geneva)

Alternatively, i sometimes fly back and pick up certain things like wheatgrass so if you really cant find certain things, PM and if i happen to fly back (and you're not asking for a 5kg bag of something) then i dont mind getting extra for you whilst im getting my own supplements. :)

iherb.com is where I buy my superfoods. They're American and ship worldwide at a very low rate.

Hi Omar,

I shop in Bienne too and if I can't find my stuff in one of the two organic shops then I then the one by the station (Phoenix) will usually order things for me if they have them in the catalogue. I know they have chia seeds and acai berries. Lupin seed flour is a good substitute for hemp protein and you can get it there too.

I buy my Spirulina in the chemist Sunstore in Place Guisan and you can get goji berries in the coop. You said you are willing to travel so there is a big organic supermarket in Pontarlier (France) just outside the town. It takes about 1h30 to drive there and I often go and stock up as its much cheaper than here.

Best
