Support humanitarian aid in Northern Iraq
Hello all,

in view of the big humanitarian catastrophy taking place right in front of our eyes in Northern Iraq I would like encourage everyone to support the organziations that provide help in this region.

And I was wondering whether we as the glocals community could make a difference instead of just watching the tragedy on TV or youtube.
We are many – we can do something! And a lot of people wish to help but they do not know how. So here is our chance!

I came across Caritas (a Swiss organization): They work together with partner organizations on projects running in Northern Iraq to provide emergency help mainly for children. They focus on:
- food, blankets and sanitary products for refugees
- psychological support for kids (dealing with trauma)
- education (to help to create a "normal" day with teachers trained to work with traumatized children)

As the situation is getting extremely difficult, they need to raise urgently 10 000 CHF.

I am not working for Caritas - I am just following the urgent and strong request of the UN General Secretary that everyone who can support those refugees should act now and not wait because the situation is incredibly cruel.

Donations can be made to the following account:
Caritas Schweiz
Postbank Account Number: 60-7000-4
Subject: IRAQ GLOCALS
(The receipt can be used for tax deduction.)

Or on their website:

https://www.caritas.ch/en/donate/donate-now/

I asked them to tell me the total sum received with the subject "IRAQ GLOCALS" at the end of next week so that I can inform you about the result we achieved.

Let's try to make a difference!
