Is anyone else having major problems with SwissPost? A Christmas card that was mailed on Dec 12th just arrived in the US on January 27th. The others that I mailed from the big post office in Paquis on December 18th have still not arrived! Last summer, we had to cancel checks that we sent to the US, because they had not arrived in over a month, they showed up again, after six weeks...nevr mind that they were sent Priority!

Why does "Swiss Efficiency" not extend to the post office? Is it only mail to the US or are other people having the same problem? I don't think the fault lies with the US, because when things are mailed to me from the States, they get here in a matter of days.

I feel like I am dealing with the postal system in a fourth world nation!

Mail to/from Canada arrvies in 4-6 days without fault. You might want to look in the direciton of the USPS

Also, around the holiday period they're usually pretty clear about delays - in Europe, for example, they give the delay of 4th of december for a letter ''economy'' to arrive in time, so I would imaging it's even earlier for the US?

I've found that respecting those delays have worked for me, and that outside the holiday period they're generally very reliable.

I had a problem with the Swiss Post last summer. I sent a card to Poland and it took 6 weeks for it to arrive. As I was later told, the reason could have been that I put Poland instead of Pologne .

A few months ago, a letter to Canada took 3 weeks to arrive with a priority stamp.
