Swisscom fixnet not needed for DSL IF
you have a swisscome mobile phone.  I called to cancel my fixnet line because someone told me that they have removed the requirement to have a fixnet line in order to subscribe to their dsl service.  Well, its not completely true.  They will only ALLOW you to do this if you have a swisscome mobile contract.  I have a swisscome mobile but from my work.  That wouldnt work either.  You have to have a mobile in your own name.  This SUCKS.  I have a 25 francs basic line with swisscom which I never ever use.  So thats 25 francs wasted every month for me.

Damn! That does suck!

What a waste of money...thanks for the info anyway.

A related point: we (glocals) are now working - with one of the main mobile providers - to put together a guide to Mobile Communications, as a service for all members. If you want us to include any related topics in there, pls add them to this forum post.

Thanks mate.
