TV
Hi,

We are moving from the UK to Lausanne shortly and wonder if our current TVs will work?  They are digital so I'm presuming so, but one never knows.......??!! :ermm:

We arrived from London recently and our digital receiver was able to receive the local channels

BUT – there is not much to see…

I would suggest SKY receiver – at least you would be able to watch British television even without any sky subscription (free to air)

Best regards,

Avi

hi, i live near lausanne, it's a beautiful area indeed.

if you have digital cable here, your tv will also work but, if you connect via the antenna connector (UHF) you will get no sound, unless your tv is a multi system (pal G and I)

satellite is cheaper for the free to air chanels, BBC 1,2,3,4, ITV 1,2,3,4 and cnn, BBC24, sky news. and lots of others. you won't need a sky receiver, any free to air box will work.

you can buy all you need when you get here.

cheers,

roger

Hi,

To answer your specific question on "whether the TV will work", you could try your TV manufacturer. I did the same when I moved from the UK and was advised that it would not.

Good luck :)
