Taxes in Vaud

Dear all,

I'm a bit lost and hope someone can give me an answer...

I live in canton vaud since 2 years and I work in Geneva.
My taxes in geneva are always automatically deducted from my salary: Impôt Source Genève.

Now i was told that i should do a declaration in Vaud as well, which I never did..
No paper or anything received form the canton and I assumed it was all fine with the taxes in geneva.

Can anyone tell me how to proceed, how it work and if it's going to cost me furtunes now?? :S

Thanks for your help,

Marinka

I worked for 3 years in Geneva while living in Vaud. Also paid my taxes at source and therefore you do not owe Vaud any further taxes. If you gain any income from other activities that are not automatically deducted, then you would have to pay additional taxes.

In case for example that you own property in Vaud you would have to pay taxes over that, but that’s about it.

You could be refering to tax self assessment thing that applies to everybody being paid more than 120.000chf ?

Even if taxed at source and no other incomes etc, you are still supposed to complete one of these.

I'm only coming up to my first year here, living in VD and working in GE .. I don't know if you are supposed to do this yourself or it will magically appear in the post.

Oh and I've heard good and bad things.. As in some people have received refunds of tax and others have received huge bills because their employer had under-estimated the tax. Since after all, tax at source is just an estimate. Surprised
