Thanksgiving Turkeys

Where are people getting their Turkeys for Thanksgiving?   Do you know where we can get ones that have the heart and liver and neck?  What about organic?   Am I asking for too much?????

Please let me know if you have a good butcher or other source.  Would really love to buy direct from the farmer.

I (in Basel) usually get mine in Manor. But you might be a bit late to make a reservation.

France seems to have a better selection of poultry than Switzerland, so if you live close to the border, why not try there?

Halle de Rive has a very good butcher in for birds.  I can also highly reccomend

http://www.boucherie-plainpalais.ch/

One of the best in town.

Anything in Geneva you are going to pay highly though.

Thank you Royle, Alan and Martin!   I will check them out.  We are not celebrating until Friday so maybe I can still reserve one.

Many thanks!

We buy from Alegrio, it is a warehouse store but they get their Turkeys from the farm directly. You do need to go in and ask them to order you one.

Thanks Emily!

Where so they have this store.  Do you have to have a membership?

Just for the record, the premises of the “Grande Boucherie du Molard” used to be in “place du Molard” (where the Café du Centre is) but they are now at 20 rue du Marché, opposite the main entrance of “Globus”.

As Martin said, their produce is excellent but it has always come at a price.  We used to save up to buy a Bourg-en-Bresse bird there at Christmas!
