The Local: RECALL --Denner Swiss Mineral Water San Andrea Found to Contain Solvents

"The reason for the recall of the merchandise is the discovery of butanone in two two-litre bottles," the Federal Health Office said in a statement, adding that bottles of both still and sparkling water were being pulled.

The statement said that the colourless product causes "an unpleasant smell of solvent as soon as the bottle is opened."

"For reasons of security and to avoid any health risk, (the Swiss distributor) Denner is asking its clients not to consume San Andrea water," it said.

Butanone has been known to cause nausea and headaches.

True...but do you eat rice from Migros?

http://www.radiofrontier.ch/news/local-news/migros-allowed-to-sell-rice-containing-pesticides-886/

"...The supermarket Migros has been given permission to sell rice that contains a pesticide which doesn't conform to Swiss standards. Migros had asked for the rice to be added to the country's list of authorised food stuffs, otherwise it would have been destroyed or sent back to the country it came from. 26 tonnes of rice had been found to contain residues of tebuconazole, which is used to treat plant fungi. The pesticide is classed by the World Health Organisation as 'slightly hazardous'. The rice was found to contain 0.01 milligrammes of tebuconazole, more than previously allowed by Swiss standards but still 40 times less than allowed under European law..."
