Re: The Truth about Six Pack Abs
Post 1
I don't know about that specific book, but I know the basic principles about abs (sadly not from having my own abs, but just from reading a lot about it):

1. You can't have 6-pack abs if your whole body is not lean. In other words, even if you work your abs all day and all night, unless your whole body is lean, the abs will not show.

2. For 99% of people, doing regular crunches is good enough for the abs. If you're a bidy builder, or you really wants superb amazing abs, you need more ab stuff. But for a nice 'standard' 6 packs, crunches will do.

3. There's no magic formula to get abs. It's just hard work and good diet.

Sad, but true...

To get "six pack abs" requires to drink a lot of beer, that come most of the time in six-packs. :D

To train abdominal muscles, as far as I know, it's important to know what kind of abs is wanted. Big bumps showing through even the largest sweat-shirt may give you the opportunity to figure on an underwear ad, but may be totally useless, unless you work for Calvin Klein. They take too muck time to contract and require too much calories to work. Simple crunches (tons of them) give you that. I go for somewhat smaller but fast-actioned functional musculature...

As a rather rotund friend of mine says... "why go for a six pack when you can have the whole barrel!".

Thanks guys and gal for hilarious answers.

Thanks Nir to share your basic things about Abs. I actually don't care about "Six Pack Abs", just wanna stay healthy and get a bit better shape. My diet is pretty good but I have to sit all day long infront of my computer.

I heard about this book and thought why not to ask glocalars, some one might have something to share. Same time I googled and found very positive reviews. So, now I have it (e-book, took no time to get it). Just started to read. As you (Nir) said it has suggested one diet list and some exercises. I am just on page 30 of 140's. Lots of blabla (necessary).

Hoping for best.

If anyone needs it, I am one service.

There only one secret:

You drink the six pack and get a beer belly!

Glad to have a six pack with you (a six pack each, I mean, not to share one!) :D

Diet is a major factor in "6 packs" the book, The Abs Diet is highly recommended by the men at my gym (all sporting six packs.. so I trust them) It puts you on a pretty regimented core eating plan on protein/green veggies

Here's Uncle Syd's recipe for the Shapeness:

1. Eat a lot of meat

2. Walk whenever you can (taking the bus for one stop is wrong, scandalous, obscene, so on - unless it's for point 4)

3. Use the stairs (to change floors, or for point 4)

4. Make love as many time as you can

4a. Do it in an active way - additional human shaped bed garment don't loose weight.

4b. The more, the merrier. Note: beware of the infarctus

4c. Concerning point 3: ask neighbours first. Advice: wear helmet, elbow and knee pads.

4d. "Sleep" with someone else's partner: they are more participative, and running away for the angry husband/wife while putting on clothes is a pretty good training. Advice: train for the naked 100m first, check how long you need to put clothes back on (if it's more than 0.8'', it's useless, because it's the time it takes to reach the ground from the second floor), guys: don't sleep with OJ Simpsons wife.

5. If you don't have a partner for 4., find one, but don't forget point 2 and 3.

6. Do some sport. Avoid sports like Chess, which require intense cerebral activity, but minor physical expenses. Advice: try exhausting activities, such as bear wrestling, heavy/black/death metal concerts, train pushing, room cleaning/dish washing.

7. Make love as many times as you can (oops! already wrote this one)

7 bis. Dress up as a postman for your jogging. Jog near dogs.

8. Lend yourself a helping hand: look at yourself in the mirror and be proud: you're beautiful, but people still ignore it/you're brave enough to decide to do something about you six pack. Advice: make "ooh" or "Aah" sounds. It makes it more credible. Note (for guys): if you need a mirror to confirm the presence of your private parts, it should help you to do something about it.

9.Train to sneeze hard. It's ludicrous, but it's a funny way to practice abs...

10. Rest a lot. Like a bat, hanging from somewhere.

11. Take at least two showers a day: if you follow points 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7, you will probably need it, if you don't want to end up with point 5.

Addendum to point 11: practice point 4 in shower.

Here are some sound and healthy advices to become or to keep fit. If I find any other, I'll add them. If you have secret techniques (such as the "swinging monkey march" or the "volcano flies by the sunset"), please share them with us.

;)

Syd, I quoted your recipe by heart, the best recipe I have seen so far. All "6 pack" diet will run out of business. Are you planning to switch your profession? You should, you will be the best.

Is it your profile picture part of your recipe? Don't tell me to do that, i can't put myself other way around!!!

Nir, you are kidding!! It can't be Stef's picture. In that case You should share "the crown" with him.

Anyway, I loved it. Thanks to share with us.

You know I love you like a brother and I just jest, bro.

I don't know about other girls, but 6-pack abs make me think there's this man looking at himself in the mirror all the time....

I'd rather he be in good shape all around and yes Syd, a high libido certainly does not hurt to keep one in shape.
