of a GOL member, who's got to make a living obviously, like all of us, but in this case it's with a twist, because he picked the wrong site for advertising his dubious activities.
He's known in GOL under the nickname "greatx" (up to you to find out I guess what he's referring to) and on his own dedicated website as 'badboy' and his speciality is the organizing of sleazy workshops.
They are advertised under the playful title "Seduction Workshops" , the purpose of which is not to improve banal flirting skills for those who are lacking practice or whatever, but what it actually stands for is a "how do I get as many women as possible, and in the shortest lapse of time, into my bed and gee take a good look at what a hero I am" style workshop. It is obscene and disrespectful to women and to any man who respects himself.
His postings were reported as abuse several times by myself and others, but he just won't get the message and quit. I've got nothing against the guy and his pathetic attemps at luring in business, but I also think that he can take his business elsewhere, there are more appropriate sites for that line of …work.
And just for the record I'm no prude but that type of stuff really gets me going!

Hee hee, I just read his post about the seduction masters coming to teach the few chosen... Tsss...
I liked the "pick-up artist" part. I thought he was talking about turntables and DJs! ;-P
More seriously, I'm a bit troubled by this "seduction workshop" thing (I admit I'm a lousy flirt - this has nothing to do with jealousy! :-) ). Maybe I'm a bit naive, but I always saw the seduction as a sponteneous thing more than a game of chess, moving the figures to check... ...the queen.
Perhaps I'm not modern enough and should now consider people as disposable and begin to hunt women to put the more possible trophies on my wall for other to see? Naaaa!
Long live the cheesy, often ludicrous but spontaneous punchlines!
Syd.
PS: Can I buy you a drink... ...after? ;-P

Hi
If you consider yourself insulted, you have the right to respond, but you must admit you probably pushed it a bit too far...
Take a look at the name of the site you propose to click on. C'mon, doesn't seem that respectful to me.
Furthermore, your post sound more like "get whoever you want to do whatever you want (in no time, and no sweat)".
I'm not prude or stuck up and people can testify that I'm no monk. Being personally a swine (respectful and caring, but still doing oink oink) I nevertheless think that this is not the place for such posts/events/activities.
If you didn't mean to offend anyone, just keep low profile and apologize.
Syd "Oink Oink" Brown
Oh, by the way, I'm a swine that turns into a boar when someone becomes rude. FYI.

is advertising your trade and enticing a few poor losers to join your workshops, be assured that your crappy ads will be reported and deleted faster than you say 'hello my name is sleaze ball' - so you might as well go and take your trash elsewhere - there are specialized sites for that.

Hey guys
This thread has gotten very hot very fast.
I really don't understand what the big deal is.
Greatx posted an ad advertising a 'Seduction Workshop'. This is not something I would attend, and not really something I want to see on GoL, but its just an advert.
I took a look at the site, and it seems these guys give these workshops all over the world. I don't want to offend anyone, but the course plan is hilarious (How to be sexy, how to initiate kissing, how to be iresistable...) and I would expect people to have a good laugh about this whole thing, not insult the guy so badly and hunt him down.
So what is it that got you guys so angry?
Oded

If you think that we went a bit too far, I apologize!
Couldn't login to the "badboy" site, so I stayed with the first impression. I still think that GoL (Glocals) doesn't need such things, mostly because we members of every sex are naturally over attractive ;-)
I'm afraid that competent pick-up artists succeed beyond their expectation and black sheeps among them misbehave with women. The logical consequence for a lousy flirt like me would be to be punched, shot dead or lynched up a disco-ball by an angry mob of girls even before my punchline!
I can survive a shot, or the lynching, but you have no idea how difficult for me it is to find a punchline!
I reacted more against the half disguized attacks against the other members. They went a bit too far on a forum, to my opinion. If to your eyes I went too far in my posts, I then apologize. What's the point of criticizing the lack of spirit of someone if I'm pushing it myself...
Sorry again, and have a nice day!
Syd.
PS: Wearing "AXE" (or "LYNX" for english people) deodorant and being a member of the mighty GoL should be efficient enough to be attractive, no?

No reason to appologize, but thanks for the reply.
I agree that these types of 'workshops'should not be posted on GoL. I just couldn't figure out why this guy got you so mad.
There have been other people in the past who have posted 'smut' on GoL, and in the past, we deleted their posts and all was cool.
In this case though, the postings got very personal right from the start, and I wanted to understand why.
Have a great weekend.

Dear O,
Agree with: "the course plan is hilarious (How to be sexy, how to initiate kissing, how to be iresistable...) and I would expect people to have a good laugh about this whole thing"
So far so good, amusing, ordinary stuff. Till you scratch the surface.
What got me mad? The boasting reviews, of which you can see some choice samples below, quote:
"But it’s not all sunshine and roses….I’m yet to actually f**k or date the most beautiful woman in the place. So I have come far, but not far enough."
"Although last week I did f*** two different girls so it’s starting to come together Wink."
Is that enough?
At no point did it get personal, I repeatedly urged the guy to post his stuff elsewhere and that it was nothing against him and his 'product'.
But either way, agree I got carried away, I could have just ignored it and read something else instead.
Have a great weekend.

I'm glad that GoL is not a dating website, that's for sure. I'm also glad it is not a shagging website either.
The question Oded asked as to why the event information stimulated an emotional response from one person seems rather moot. Someone was offended and admen decided to remove it as the content appears to offend.
I think the activity involves seducing the person for sexual persons, which seems rather mechanical.
Humans aren't machines and I really don't think seduction comes in a package or a formula. The most seductive people (in the true sense of the word) are those who are happy to be alive and who are interested in others.
You can't learn to seduce, but you can learn to manipulate, as GreatX points out that women have done for years.
If men want to learn to manipulate women, this is as progressive as women wanting to dominate men. Where are we going here?

but then, you're in good company apparently. Do you really think JulianT, Syd and myself could be bothered about someone's flirting techniques goofy workshop?
What we objected to was the crassness of some weird nailing pro...

S - I appreciate it upset you, and understand your views fully.....and do think the flirting courses are cheesy myself, but conceptually it didnt upset me enough to want to evict the poster from this internet society.
Some people will no doubt from time to time post things that upset others... whether views or adverts... Im not forced to read the advert, nor am I forced to participate... and hence I wouldnt want to evict the poster unless he or she directed comments "directly " at me which I found personally insulting.
Whether the poster was right or wrong to put his advert on GOL (GLOCAL) is a matter for the site admin to decide surely.... and its their right to take action (or not) as the case may be... not us mere mortals.
As an example : One may think that sex shops are wrong, but does it give us the right to burn them down and tar and feather the people who work in them. I think not.
Equally so I wont get upset for someone who has differing political views, or sexual orientation posting something on here (eg Conservative or radical dinners, gay pride dance sessions) etc etc...
Each to their own, and that difference in society is what makes us a a race so diverse and interesting.
I didnt miss the point...Im just indifferent.

and they offer quite useful, fun enhancing services...
But what does that have to do with this??
That guy is a Glocal member for one purpose only: the advertising and selling of his product. He does not post anything else, does not participate in any activity, does not have any friends network. Is that really what Glocal is about? Is that its target? I think not. But then again, if this is an open-free-for-all-anything-goes platform, I am dead wrong.
Either way I have learned my lesson from this and from now on I'm sticking to comments on picnics, tea parties and rose bushes in bloom.

..sounds rather hilarious to us to be sex coach. Hey why not after all? there are career coaches, why not seax-appeal coaches? C'mon grow up friends, anyone is entitled to his/her own judgements and to pursue his/her own lifestyle.
If someone is afflicted, naive or desperate enought to feel the need for such "assistance" and be willing to pay for it... well, live and let live we say... as long as it is and remains only a post, a proposal. Of course we would resent and actively fight any form of harassment here.
NB: lifestyle website have specialized member-only "communities" where people sharing certain inclination or whatever else can meet in privacy... perhaps an idea to think about? We know Syd_brown would bravely join us in the "vodka-shots racers community" lol
"The sun shines for everybody but none is obliged to stay under it"
Conficius, after leaving the "Pacha" at 8am and falling asleep on the beach
:)
..did someone say wacky?

I agree with Charlie.
Any community, including Glocals, will have individuals with very different goals and perspectives. Some join to find people to share their personal experience with pregnancy. Some join to go outdoors. Some to share a pint of beer and gossip. Some to learn about Geneva or an art or an educational opportunity. Some join a community to find a place to live and go their merry ways. Some to advert the property they own, services they offer, or event they sell. To the extent the local laws and policies are respected, everyone should be welcome.
What I do find unusual and improper is why the poster was the subject of hostile personal message, such as
"You're a SLEAZE BALL. SiteAdmin has been notified (and not just by me) so your days here are numbered - in hours!"
Unfortunately, this behavior is not isolated. Few weeks ago, in Feedback forum, during the discussion of current chat feature default and option to allow member to set the default, inappropriate personal attacks were made to me. I was accused by JulianT of doing something I never did and then asked to stop participating in the community (for something I did not even do). So, Sylph, I have difficulty understanding you and convinced by your arguments you just posted - that guy is a Glocal member for one purpose only: the advertising and selling of his product. He does not post anything else, does not participate in any activity....
In contrast, I have organized events on Glocals which members here loved, I have joined events organized by others, I do try to contribute and answer questions some members ask, yet I too have been target of similar hostility.
Hostility does not matter to me. I am content with who I am. Someone's hostility is not my problem. It is the hostile person's problem. While it does not matter to me, still, I wonder if hostility and emotional violence is ever appropriate in any community?
It sure is better if, as a community, we are more tolerant. Or, as Charlie eloquently writes, be indifferent.
