The lake is freezing, yay! yay!

Hi everyone,

This post is to invite you all to visit my beautiful hometown La Vallée de Joux and walk on the frozen lake.

When the lake is entirely frozen it becomes the biggest free ice-skating rink in Europe but for the moment only the part of the lake near Le Pont is open.

Come and feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Drink mulled wine and eat roasted chestnuts with us.

Enjoy my town!!!!

PS: Transportation is easy by train or by car

Hi Dave G

We have been unlucky with the weather this year. The lake has been opened to walk on only for 5 days. But it can still refreeze. It's not unusual at all. Let's cross our fingers.

The best season to visit the Vallée de Joux is surely the summer because there are more things / activities to do. But if you like Nordic skiing, the ski slope in the Marchairuz is open now as well as the slope for downhill skiing in the l’Abbaye (my favourite). The landscape is breathtaking.

I love my hometown !

Any chance we can meet the pretty brazilian actress Lucy Ramos on the slopes? (I read somewhere that Vallée de Joux was her home"town"...)

Vallée de Joux is a beautiful place. You're lucky to have it as hometown  :-)
