Thermal bath resorts

Hi,

Looking at taking a trip with the girlfriend to one of the thermal bath resorts. So far looked at Les Bains de Lavey and Ovronnaz. Is one of these better than the other? Ive seen mixed reviews online. I only plan to stay for one night (2 days), go to the baths, maybe a treatment or two.

Ive looked on a map but how is the drive from Geneva central? easy or stressful? better to take public transport?

Any opinions or guidance would be great!

Ok, just seen the reviews in the guides section! (forgot to use the new section)

Les Bains de Lavey got 5* and Ovronnaz (thermalp) got 4*. Guess that answers one of my questions. However, if anyone has been to both an opinion would still be welcomed.

The transport question still remains, is it worth driving? or trying to find public transport? is there a particular route to take/aviod?

Thanks in advance!

If you go from Geneva you can take the train (www.cff.ch), he stops at Lavey, there's a bus just outside the train station that goes to Lavey-les-Bain in 15 mn.

have a nice journey!

I have been to all of the bains over the years with the exception of the new one in Gruyere http://www.bainsdelagruyere.ch/fr/ which I have heard great things about.

If you plan to spend the night, I would actually recommend going just that bit further and going all the way to Lukerbad / Loeche les bains http://www.leukerbad.ch/en/welcome.cfm? There you will find many options and different places to go. Easy to get there by car or train. Great for a weekend and a beautiful place to go.

Next on my list would be Les Bains de Saillons which has the espace de bien etre which is well worth the extra price: http://www.bainsdesaillon.ch/parcthermal-description.html

Personally not as keen on Ovrannaz. I think of Lavey as more for a day trip rather than a weekend, but it is very nice.

Have a fantastic time!
