I do not see at all why this chat thing should upset you in the least.

I find it too easy myself to piss off a guy who does not behave himself on those. Just mock them plainly, they will run the poor things

However, David is correct, you can also find decent, interesting on a chat as well.

I think this chat gives one an opportunity to know someone before you meet in real life. One can be able to determine what kind of person one is depending on how you interact on the net, this is kind of Drive-Test to see what kind of personality you will be meeting in real world!

From this virtual encounter you can turn down the meeting depending on  how your hunch and sixth sense tell you!

Some people are good company virtually, while others are great in real life.Whereas some may have a language barrier in terms of self expression and formal introductory in the chat, they can be interesting people.

I take my time to chat, in any case no damage will be done in real life!

at the end of the day it boils down to social skills. some have them, some don't. deal with i!

I would chat with people who actually PUT A PROFILE PICTURE!!! Damn, it's not that complicated! People will accept (or not, let's face it) to chat with you if they can see how you look like.
And don't tell me "oh no, I chat with anyone", I'd be doubtful. It's like grabing someone on the street - imagine you need some help because you're lost. Well you're gonna ask your way to someone that inspires you confidence. Well it's exactly the same, in my opinion.

And guys who are just interested in hunting, I cut them off  :)

I agree with Laurianne. Photo is good, rightly or wrongly (guess it shouldn't matter if people don't put a photo with their profile) you are more likely to chat with a person who puts a photo of themselves on the site. Interestingly there is the option to see on line those only 'with profile photos'! I'd lay odds that this is used a lot as a filter ;-)

Internet live chatting is a waste of time. Go to the events meet people there.

@ Marina: Good point, I admit I might not have put the right profile pic for this topic - but hey, it is still a picture :-) Putting it on a French play on words, yes je suis un chat (ha ha)

@ Robi: agree with you. When you're an event organizer, you like to know who's gonna turn up. Maybe people will recognize you, but how can you recognize them? I went to see a bunch of people asking "hey are you the Glocals' group" and they just stared at me wondering what kind of secta I was looking for (lol) 

Look at the thread on "Men and Women being true friends - truth or fiction". Similar topic, different channel.

People who chat are perhaps looking to make friends - oops isn't that the purpose of Glocals? I am sure it is tough for women as many a guy is looking for lateral action that involves their second brain as opposed to their first.

I do not think this aspect will ever go away - so knowing it is there build up a set of knock-downs that at least entertain you. Stay in charge and have fun

Im not saying i dont want people to chat with me. If i didnt, i would select the appropriate setting on chat.

What im saying is that is annoying when people start saying things like that. There are forums for this kind of conversations and glocals is not one of them.
