Thriftshop in Lausanne....

Hey guys,

So I ve been here a month now, and I know my way around the center of Lausanne, but still I have not seen any thrift shops around...

Some of my favorite stuff, I've found in a thrift shop and macklemore agrees with me... :P

If you have any suggestions I'd be grateful :)

There is a huge thrift warehouse at the top of Lausanne 1018, close to the motorway. It is apparently run by the Protestant church and has loads of items for sale at reasonable prices. Unfortunately it is 5 years since we were there so cannot remember the name. Take the bus up to Blecherette and keep walking. Alternatively, become a member on Ricardo.ch and buy very inexpensively there. Our house [in France] is stocked from floor to ceiling with Ricardo bargains!!!!!

There is a neat thrift shop called Picpuce: by the Bel-Air bus-stop, on the side opposite of the tower; one at the Flon, behind l'Atelier Volant, and one in Montreux across the street from the hotel 3 Couronnes.Recently bought a pretty leopard print scarf for 3.00 Chf.

there's a big salvation army just up from place du tunnel. there's a bus that stops just in front. they have weird hours, so check before you go.

i love thrift stores...they are sort of sad here, i must say. compared to the ones in the states. the one good thing about disposable culture: good thrift shops! :)

Strangely that is not a used clothes but unsold new stuff from Italy. It's a very weird little place.

The Lausanne thrift stores have been listed above: They are Salvation Army, CSP/La Galetas and the Emmaus which is a bit out of Lausanne. It's the best one though.

There is another option for not expensive stuff it's called Troc. It's in Crissier.

You can find all these online.
