I think it sounds sort of creepy, espcially as it's tied to your Facebook account.

It really should be seperate from that. Then when you get to know the people you can add them to your FB if you want.

You misunderstood. It just uses your first name and profile picture to create your profile but there is no link to your fb. It also shows common interests and friends. For most people this is a safety picture increasing the odds for the name and profile to be real.

Why can't you just upload a pic and do a new user name? Well, that's just the developer who decided it was a good idea. 

i'm probably too old for all this high tech dating stuff. I like old fashioned ... hum... not sure how to get dates actually.

Interestingly this Tinder app puts the power into the hands of the female, since the male does not get the ability to contact the female in any way until she swipes right (likes him).

There are long articles about Tinder online and reviews, seems very popular in many countries esp the UK and US.

Was once described as the heterosexual version to Grinder.... but personally I dont see the "instant hook up and shag" mentality on Tinder...well not in Switzerland / Geneva anyway.
