Tried Rosetta Stone?

Thought i better try improve mon francais a bit.. I can read and listen to it ok but rubbish at speaking it. I know lots of the words but not too good at stringing them into conversation..

So I procured a copy of rosetta stone 1-5 and started on step one last night.. Seemed really really basic..

Anybody tried it? Is it any good to get up to basic conversation level quickly?

Hi, Rosetta Stone is really good as long as you put in the time; i reccomend about an hour a day, i started using it after a few months here and my French suddenly improved rapidly.  It does start at an incredibly basic level if you start from level 1, i find it useful to jump around between levels, subjects and lessons to keep it interesting and varied.  The beginer lessons are important to 'fill in the gaps' but they do get a bit tired - don't jump too far ahead though cause each lesson builds on the last and you find yourself backtracking!!
