im an American and i want to work in geneva and live in France in December. But I'm not sure I will be able to find a job and secure a work visa in Geneva before december. So I'm going for a student visa in France which I will definetley get - although it's best to say probably just to be on the safe side!- since im taking a year of french classes in France -in Ferney Voltaire. So my question is can i have a student visa in France and a work visa in Switzerland ?? Thanks for any feedback.

No you cannot unless your employer shows that you have skills that he could not get from any person in switzerland or the EU countries.
