Unfair Halloween party policy?
Ever noticed that men and women can have rather different respective ideas as to what constitutes a "fancy dress costume" for Halloween?

Women typically wear a normal black dress, but when they get to the party entrance they put a pair of plastic devil-horns on their head and proudly announce they are wearing "fancy dress". (Yeah right!)

Tricky for men to succeed with the equivalent plan! If men show up wearing a suit, or even a tuxedo like James Bond, it is still a case that few people believe it constitutes "fancy dress". (Tried that myself). No, no, no....to qualify, men must travel across town via public transport while dressed as Batman! Rarely a pleasant experience, especially when a stranger at the tram stop decides to blow their nose on the cape. Not to mention enduring all the jokes about the Batmobile having lost its wheel and due to recent EU budget cuts the caped crusader is now forced to take the bus instead.

So, to make things a little more fair, some of us were discussing what costumes women can wear that genuinely classify as "fancy dress." Please feel free to add ideas. Most popular choice so far is detailed below. (Although please maintain a sense of humour and keep in mind that this started out very much as an innocent guys conversation in the bar!).

Most popular choice: "Catherine Tramell" from the film "Basic Instinct"
Costume requirements: skimpy white dress, an ice-pick, and errrr....not much else

other ideas (i LOVE fancy dressing, and i don't mean just wearing a black dress and plastic devil horns) include : barbarella, cruella de-vil, zombie (i love my gory make-up, too), witch (not the cute/sexy kind, no no no, that would be too easy, i mean the "real deal" with blacked-out teeth, a hairy spider stuck on the cheek and matted black hair), etc etc etc.....
my, i can't wait for that party !!!!!!

....Hot Lips wore a pretty drab nurse's outfit though...Except when the wall came tumbling down while she was taking a shower. That's the kind of outfit I'm talking about :-)
