Unusual currency

I'm trying to exchange Taiwan dollars into francs, or even euros, and it's proving harder then I imagined... (I mean come *on*, isn't Switzerland supposed to be the global financial centre?!)

I'll ask at the airport tomorrow, but if you have some tips please let me know. Unfortunately it's a respectable amount, not just leftovers from a trip :(

Cheers

There are two Money Exchanges near Cornavin on the pedestrian street that leads towards the Post Office and the lake.

One is next to the Kebab place, which is next to FUST. The other is on the Starbucks side. Give them a try.

As Zonker said there are several money exchange offices in Geneva (also 2 on Rive and one in shopping centre Balexert). Unless Taiwanese Dollars aren't traded internationally (like Russian Rubles)

I don't think they'd have a problem exchanging them to Euros/Francs, though if you want to exchange the other way they will probably not have enough currency to help you. If they refuse to trade anyway (e.g. because the amount is too large) I think you'd better ask those exchange office what you could do.

In fact, I used the exchange by the Kebab to exchange a non-trivial amount of Russian Rubles.

That remarkable because officially large quantities can't even be taken out of the country. At least a few years ago.

It wasn't the currency that got me in trouble when I got caught.
