Updates From Friends - Useful or Not?

Hi folks

I'd appreciate your help regarding the 'Updates From Friends' module and whether or not you find it useful.

On the site homepage, you have an 'Updates From Friends' module that shows you what your friends posted or RSVPed to lately.

Right now this module is on the bottom left of the screen, and I find that I don't really look at it much.

What do you guys think?

Is it ok as is, should we move it to a more prominent place on the homepage, or should we just kill it?

Thanks

Oded

Do not have friends on glocals and this is on purpose as I hate updates. On all my activities posted i ask people to reply to my personal email as I can organise better since my activities are not restrcited to glocals members. Apologies as this is a bit of a non-comment and am probably in a minority.  Made the mistake of allowing friends on facebook and I avoid it âs much as possible.

I kind of like it as now I know where Charlie is and where I definitely won't be...

I do like the info on what is organised by people you know, I care less about their posts, doesn't bother me either.

Pretty similar to ThomasNL, I like to know what activities my friends post or attend, but I don't need to know when they left a comment in the forum.

The very reason why I have no friends on glocals. I occaionally like a bit of privacy and it is difficult to hide in Geneva

Thumbs up to updates *and* privacy. Perhaps we could have a setting to optionally allow/disallow one's postings from being displayed in other people's updates, or maybe further customize this concept.

And maybe a discussion, as to what the default setting should be.

I love the updates from friends ! I like to know what they're doing (they're friends after all) and there is the occasionnal good surprise, like Translator popping up again after a long stay in the desert. I wouldn't have noticed it without that feature

Glocals updates are a nice thing.  I say keep them where they are.
