Does anyone know, please, where I can look up how the Swiss authorities award the amount per month for pensions? It seems that the very meagre sum I receive per month is way below that of other countries, and indeed other individuals, my having worked in CH between 1963-1969. I could of course telephone them, but would prefer first to look it up to see how much should be awarded before I perhaps call them. Thanks in advance.

THOUSAND thanks! I have calculated it, and guess what??? They owe me at least 20 francs in addition to the measly amount they are paying me...... so now to do battle!
Your kindness is much appreciated.

The AVS system pays according to the years of contribution. I would think that with just 6 years of working & contributing the AVS will pay you enough to feed a bird - remember that full contribution is 40+ years.
But before you criticise this system, name me another system (for full contributions over the required years) that will pay you CHF 3'000+ a month as a married couple . . I think in the UK you could just about feed a couple of dogs on the government pension, or in the US a couple of goldfish.

I do not think that she wants to criticise the Swiss system.

Thank you for that. You are absolutely right. No way would I criticise a system whereby they are giving me something, albeit that this has long since been contributed to. I am simply wanting to get to the bottom of how much I should rightly be paid - there is a discrepancy which needs to be explained, and for which I am still awaiting a response from the Geneva office.
