Would be very grateful for any suggestions of things recommended to see, places to visit, for trip down the Danube by bike, Vienna to Budapest, in either summer or early autumn.
Unusual things especially welcome, as for a honeymoon.

I visited Budapest in February about 3 years ago for the first time but assume that the weather will be so much nicer in the summer.
I would suggest spending an afternoon visiting Gödöllo palace. Also a must, the Castle District, is a kilometre-long limestone plateau towering 170m above the Danube. In addition, a cruise along the Danube is always nice.
Furthermore, the hotel I stayed in was on the same side as the Hungarian Parliament-once there, I realized that I would have much prefered to stay on the other side - as it was more convenient.
I returned to Budapest for work 2 years ago and stayed at the Four Seasons, which was simply lovely.
