I have a friend and she wants to come here for a visit. She has an Indian passport but currently she is in UK on a student visa. Do you know if she needs a visa or where can i ask for information?

Hi Maria,
As far as I know, she would need a Swiss or a Schengen visa to travel to Switzerland. She can visit the below website to get more informamtion, or for a helpline number in UK.

Ur friend needs to apply for a visa to enter Switzerland. England is not part of Shengen & hence the concept of shengen visa doesnot hold good.

There is one simple complication... "She has an Indian passport..." hence she would need the visa

It is true that Kenyans (and probably other nationalities) with valid residence/student UK visas could enter Switzerland without having to acquire a swiss visa before Switzerland joined the shengen treaty. However, since 12 December, a shengen visa will be required. Please visit the Swiss Cionsulate in London website for further info.
