Would you like to teach English as a volunteer?  Geneva’s Université Populaire needs a few more people to teach for an hour and a half once a week during the academic year. We offer five course levels for students on restricted budgets who come from many different countries and need to improve their English for professional and personal reasons.


Previous teaching experience is not necessary and you will receive a brief training.


Classes start in October so give us a call if you think you may enjoy teaching English in an international atmosphere, which we promise you will find a totally rewarding experience.

I would like to go for this one. I have taught English grammar as well as conversation before. Pl let me know more about this.

I would be very interested to participate in the program. I work full-time everyday until 6 pm. I would be very happy to volunteer any day after that, if the timing is convenient.

Many thanks for contacting me.  The person to contact is Ctherine Duc on 022 339 05 03 or catherine@upcge who will make an appt for you to see the Directrice.
Briefly the UP mainly provides language classes for people on low incomes. The teachers are volunteers and training and help is given.  We work a 90-minute period a week during term time. The students are highly motivated and give so much back. If you want to talk to me first, call me on 022 340 13 36..

Many thaks for replying. No problems about not being free early as the UP has two lesson periods in an evening and the second one starts at 20.00. Catherine Duc on 022 338 05 03 ([email protected]) is the person to contact, but don't hesitate to call me on 022 340 13 36 if you want more info.

Many thanks for your reply.  Although we don't need our teachers to have a professional qualification, it would be great to have somneone on the team who has already taught.  For those who haven't, it does give you self assurance and you quickly become very confident at speakign in public.
