Warning! Do not accept Microsoft's free upgrade to Windows 10

Finally after months of nagging from Microsoft, I finally accepted the offer to upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10.

My windows 7 is 100% in English.

In the upgrade option I selected English but it kept changing to German.

Now my whole Windws is in German.  Not only that but much of my software has changed to German.   I want ENGLISH!

There seems to be no way to get the English Back.  C'mon Microsoft in this day and age you shouldn't assume that people who live in Geneva can only speak GERMAN!

Now my choice is to learn German or to buy Windows 10 English version in a packet.

Bad luck Marcus - mine actually went without a hitch and I couldn't be happier with Win 10. Strange that your software is now in German....that suggests something in the base hardware has changed. Perhaps going into the machine set up at boot time might show something.....

Didn't get any issue neither when upgrading, everything is in english and working fine.

Seems to be starting even faster than with the previous version Win 7.

FYI, I had a bug with one of my previous application and did the full re-install process without having to buy it.

If not mistaken you may choose the language again. Once re-installed, everything was fine and it even starts faster now than with windows 7.

Within 30 days of the upgrade you still have the option to undo it and get back to Windows 7. It's an automated process somewhere under "Recovery" in the control panel.
