Hopefully you are OK, i presume so ?...
Generally this is an area to be wary of as the park is a common place for the homeless / druggies to hang out.
I got mugged once walking past the park

someone told me that a girl was attacked in that part yrs ago. and this was after i'd been walking alongside the park nearly every night when i used to work in our QdS office. word of advice to newbies.. geneva does have it's odd spots where you need special vigilence.
I would also never walk up the stairs from the mandarin hotel up to the upper level late at night cuz you never know who's waiting at the top.
hopefully in the new website we can have a posting of 'hotspots' / 'hottips' to inform members at glance for things to be be weary of.

This I totally agree with. When you come from a country where there are over 150 murders in any one month and violent ones at that you have to appreciate living in a place like this where people leave you alone, in general. I have lived in the region since 1991 and have seen so many changes over the years. When I go back for visits I have to ask the question "How do people live here?" The answer is that "We have to survive!" so let us be thankful for the blessings that we have in life as things are getting worse worldwide...:P
