Hi dear GOLers. My name is Natalia. I am new at GOL (since October this year). What , on your point of view, is the GOL? High school? Games of society?
Everything is welcome. Your points of view, your experience, your anger, your scepticism, your laugh, your jokes, your serious.
Thanks in advance.

"GenevaOnline ('GoL') is a community of friendly people who want to meet & help other friendly people. The minimum age is 23 (elastic). This is NOT a dating site."
It was founded by the marvel bros Siteadmin and Nir_ and it is run by the enthusiasm and initiatives of people like you and me who invite other people like you and me to do things together.
For some among us is like a family. For some others it's like the country club, the reading group, the gang of friends, the network, the pack (wolfie? :-P)
But if you ask me GoL is the genial intuition that Geneva is a little, a bit provincial, at first not so friendly city, packed to the top with very friendly, open minded, interesting people who just needed an excuse to meet as friends, skipping the years usually needed to build a friendship.
Among us you are considered a friend since the very first time you appear in a "New Members' Drinks".
Do treat the other GoLers as friends.
It would be a shame to lose their (our) friendship! :-)

...exactly what Stef said!
It's me, it's you, it's wolf, it's Stef, it's Tinkie, and it's 8000+ more people who are here cos they want to meet more friendly folks, and do stuff together.
And as Stef said, from there it splits into many different things.
For me personally, GoL is a life changer. I have met in the past year terrific people here (yes, and some ass holes too), who became my close friends.

Indeed GOL is not a dating site, but don't tell me there are no dates happening on GOL.
I know many singles in GOL chasing for other singles.
Just have a look at some profiles of men having only girls as friends and vice-versa.
Of course GOL's 1st aim is to gather ppl together and to make Geneva a more friendly place, to meet ppl, for lonely ppl and especially for newcomers in Geneva.
GOL is a great site and will stay, but if ppl meet, obviously sooner or later ppl will date.
See ya and happy new year!!

and when people meet sometimes they like each other and date!
Nothing wrong to that. It's not forbidden and it's even welcome.
What is forbidden and santioned is disturbing girls and boys with unwelcomed unpolite insisting proposals.
Who does that will have to deal with Wolfie's fangs!
:-)
Ciao Lynn!

I'm happily married and I want to see as many people as possible as happy as I am.
I met Sari, because I dared giving it a try and she was in for it.
It could have stayed like that: a one night stand with someone met at a party.
It happened more than thirteen years ago!
That's why I'm no moralist and I advise you all to join the family with the motto:
"Listen to the Granny: you like him? Give it a try!"
If he declines it will be flattery for him, and flattery for yourself who showed you are able to go do the first step, rather than sitting and waiting.
