What is the future of human kind?

Looking back on our History and the world today, what is the future of human kind? If we dwell a moment on progress, political and economic systems, religions, population, human relations, history of ideas, shift in values and our environment, where are we heading, what will we be forced to take into consideration and is there a logic in human destiny?

I'd be very interested in reading your points of views. We'll be discussing this topic at next Café Philo in Lausanne. Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts. Please avoid any hateful comments. This is just an opportunity for reflection and exchange of ideas.

Thank you Izzie for raising this interesting question!

It is surely helpful to divide the the different aspects: like the social, the political, the economical development etc.

Also: The future of human kind in an OECD country might be slightly different from an Emerging Market one.

The development in all periods of time were marked by new insights, like scientific knowledge, new philosophical or political theories. Hence a big part of the future of mankind will depend on new knowledge and is not 100% predictable.

An interesting question for me in this context is: How can I influence the future of mankind. Is there a way to contribute to the development. Even to a small degree and ín the environment I am living in?

And is there a logic in human destiny? Maybe to cope with the conditions we are born in and not to give up faith, hope and love. Good night
