Where to buy accessories for SLR cameras in Lausanne

I was wondering if I can have some suggestions regarding:

1) a store in LAUSANNE from which I can buy lens for my SLR camera. I am specifically looking for stuff for Canon cameras. I already aware about Fnac, but I am sure there should be better places (possibly cheaper than FNAC) in town.

2) Of course, one solution is online stores: to shop from Amazon.fr or .de but I am not sure how much tax would be applied once the item is shipped into Switzerland. Any idea about thatl?

Thanks in advance.

try www.digitec.ch i buy all of my canon stuff there its cheaper than the shops and they give excellent service. Other than that theres www.ricardo.ch which i also use a lot. When buying from germany or france a duty is levied on goods imported at 7.5% + the postal systme charges of a minimum of 18chf.

:-)

The only place to buy photo gear in Lausanne is photo Grancy on blvd Grancy.

It's a small place but they are really helpful and always try to give you the best deal possible.

Have a look at this site. They compare prices of most on-line stores in CH.

http://www.toppreise.ch/

Search by keyword or have a look around in the photography area.

Prices are shown with the delivery price included (second price shown). You will need a minimum of German (or Google translate) as most of the sites are in the Swiss German area.

Amin, good luck with this.  Maybe it's better for CaNikon owners.  I've been ordering Pentax and Sigma-for-Pentax glass and the sellers in CH have been horrible.  You name it, they've done it.

High price: check.  Not in stock: check.  Site indicates in-stock and the product is not in stock: check.  Place the order and they ignore it for a week: check.  Site indicates "available in 3 to 5 days" so you place the order and then it becomes "available in two weeks or more": check.

I gave up and placed an $800 order with B&H (in the US) today.  Swiss customs cannot possibly make my life any more miserable than Swiss on-line retailers have.

My experience with ordering winter tires from Delticomm takes the cake, but I'll save that rant for another day.

That said, powerch.com and digitec.com have provided my best experiences so far.   FWIW.

Hey Josh... the question is very interesting but for the heinigerag, this question is not relevant.

They have stores in switzerland and online-shop... I have been several times in Niedebipp to pick up my things, I ordered a couple of days before. Very nice people there and very good well trained. Before I bought my D3s, I had a nice talk to woman there and she told ,me, that she worked before as a photograph and so we spoke about the several Nikon FX bodies etc..

Not always if there is an internet-shop, that means there are only a couple of people somewhere in a warehouse only "dealing" with goods...

I buy there my things... because of not so positive experience with Grancy, if you have Nikon.. Sorry... but I tried severeal times...and it´s my point of view...

For 99% I know what I want to have and also Heinigerag has a good service...E-mail feedback latest 2 hours.. for me perfect.. Order in the morning and get the stuff the next day.. (if calue < 1.000CHF)
