Where to buy milk?

Hello!

Does anyone knows, we it is possible to buy milk? I saw a lot of cows, in the villages not far from the place I live(Gland), but I never saw someone sell the milk...

The milk in the shops are good enough but it is not possible to make from it kefir, as it is pasteurized.

Thanks, in advance for any advices

I was looking for raw milk few months ago, and I found a farm in Le-Mont but that would NOT be close to Gland. What I did is that I found this farm and then went and talked to the farmer, and he was happy to sell me his raw milk...

Maybe look online for farms and then go visit them...

Good luck!

Last time I checked (several months ago) there was an automatic vending machine of raw milk in St Genis Pouilly, on the rondpoint between rue Jean Belleville and Rue de Genève.

I can confirm it is still there and gives milk. The price is 1 €/l, you can use own bottles or buy them for 0.20 €.

If I remember correctly, it is advised to keep that milk only for 2 or 3 days (in the fridge), so it seems indeed "rawer" than supermarket milk. Taste is very good in any case :-)

We moved from Gland 2 years old, but when we were there we got our milk from a farm's shop on Rue du Jura right before you reach Grand-Rue. It's after the Police when heading towards Grand-Rue. Hopefully he's still there.

Just to confirm this is straight from the cow mlk you need to cook or at least warm up. You need to go in and reserve how much you want in advance.

Hi!

The shop Manor Food in Geneva has a raw milk distributer.

There are also Manor's in Nyon and Lausanne which may be closer to you - Maybe give them a call to see if they have raw milk?

Good luck!

Hi,

The big Carrefour in Ferney (maybe also in Divonne, but I never go there) has a milk called Marguerite, it is filtered and not pasteurised.
