Hi,
Is there a place in Lausanne or nearby where one can donate second hand clothes to a charity?

I think near the station when we walk towards CECIL on left hand side there are Red Cross boxes. I left few clothes in them few weeks back.
May be you want to check there.

There are "clothes bin" in all the city but I dropped second hand clothes at "l'Avenue de l'Elysée", at the begin of this road (at the cross of what we call "La Croix d'Ouchy") on the left of the Church, there is a bin for clothes.
Pack them in a bag closed before dropping them.
Otherwise you receive in your letter box, once or twice per year a plastic bag for second hand shoes + clothes & they (associations) are coming to collect them at your door step.
Hope it helps! ;-)
