UBS are stillers... Opinion from a Swiss person :-) There fees are too high... I don't know the deal for glocals members, but if it is just a year free of banking services, it is not worth it....
Postfinance is a better deal. You don't pay banking fees if you have more than CHF 7,500 on your account :-)

I say UBS. 10Sfr per month is worth it when you can pick up the phone and reach an English language call-center.

In Swiss banks you always find many employees that speak in English. If you are unlucky, you just need to have a little talk in French " Je ne parle pas bien français, pouvez-vous me passer un de vos collègues qui parlent anglais " ... Here we go.
Ah and by the way, if you are kind of rich - more than 100'000 CHF on your account, Postfinance is better because they guarantee everything in case of bankrupt ( Government guarantee) :-)

Yes, the 100k insurance limit is just odd. A country which prides itself on its rock-solid banking sector really should stand behind customer deposits a bit better. It was only 30k until recently.
The US went from 100k to 250k during the financial crisis...

If English is important for you, go for UBS.
And if you have more than CHF 10K in your UBS account, all your banking fees are waived and it's all free.

Nir, being over 10k cuts my fees from 20/mo to 10/mo. Is the free banking a special Glocals deal?

Ahh, it's my account type. I have the Pay-and-Save solution, which isn't free.
This also explains why I have an assigned contact ("client advisor") in Lausanne whom I can pester via e-mail.
