Which is best - sublet to partner or tell the regie we are cohabitating?

Hello all you knowledgeable people out there

My partner has arrived in Geneva and I am required to notify the Regie that he is living with me (I am the leaseholder), however I am not sure whether it is best to tell them i am sub-leasing to him, or that we are cohabitating.

I know Regie's can be tricky so don't want to make a wrong step here. Do any of you know the pros and cons of each option?

Any help ir advice much appreciated.

I think the subleasing idea is the wrong move. cohabiting is a better bet coz the regies are not required to accept all sublets.

and, you don't want to have both names on the lease, because that will require a new lease, and then they can increase the rent! as well as removing the name, requires creating a new lease.
