Would you help this seven-year old walk? Lucas is a physically-challenged boy, whose dearest dream is to walk like everyone else. Fortunately for Lucas, it is not impossible.

Lucas lives in Rumilly, in the Haute-Savoie department in France. More details can be found on the website dedicated to Lucas' dream to get on his feet & walk:

Unfortunately, everything is in French so you may find a translation of his condition, details on treatment and his parents' cry for financial aid translated into English below:
"Lucas was born May 16, 2008 with transposition of the great vessels in the heart. He underwent a first intervention 10 days of life to fix all that. We thought it would remain there. But at the age of 21 months, Lucas had a heart attack at our home, following a complication due to the intervention.
Only 8% of children are affected by this complication.
Thanks to the intervention of his father and firefighters, our little angel could be revived.
The lack of oxygen during the stop caused brain damage. Lucas stayed for 11 days in a coma...
On waking, the prognosis was very bad doctors. But our little Lucas is a fighter and he was able to recover over time. He only retained the nervous aftereffects.
Today Lucas following normal schooling, in CP (preparatory school).
In everyday life, he needs help because he still has difficulties when he uses his hands and he does not. Disability requires a big support in rehabilitation and purchase a lot of equipment.
Lucas progressing day by day. Today he is able to use a walker to walk. We are confident and still hope to see one day our little boy on two legs...but for this we need your help...

To give maximum chance Lucas, we want to take him to a renowned rehabilitation center in Barcelona. This is the Essentis center. This method is an intensive rehabilitation program.
The center sets up a specific to each patient treatment strategy to best meet its needs according to their disability and its symptoms. The patient goes through different rehabilitation workshops:
- Physiotherapy
- Acupuncture
- Osthépathie
- Active verticalisation
The objective is to develop the maximum of functional motor skills. Each session lasts 2 to 4 weeks at 4 hours per day rehabilitation, 5 days a week.
The ideal is to take it several times a year in order to fully optimize the results. This method is not reimbursed (by French social security), that's why we created this association.
To help Lucas, donate to his association by clicking on the "Faire un don" button on the website. You can also send your donations to the address given in the CONTACT section or contact the association directly through post or through email."
Thank you!
