Most dry-cleaning shops provide carpet cleaning service, either at their own premises or on behalf of a larger firm. The ‘Baechler’ chain has its own carpet cleaning operation.
However, if your rug is valuable, I would suggest that you first go to an oriental carpet shop and ask if they can recommend a specialist firm that they know.
In any case, check the price in advance – it will be based on size in square metres. Also, whether the firm will pick up and deliver for free as some charge extra for this.
For machine-made Chinese carpets, I have used a small dry-cleaner in rue 31 décembre (Eaux-Vives) which acts as an agent for a larger establishment and, so far, the service has worked very well.
