Family of four shot dead in Geneva

A family of four—two teenagers and their parents—has been found dead in Geneva. Their bodies were discovered on Friday afternoon in the Carouge area of the city. Late in the evening police said a note left behind leaves little doubt that the 52-year-old father killed his 47-year-old wife and his sons, aged 19 and 16, before turning the gun on himself.

The note, in his native Romanian,  said “At 52 years old, I have messed up everything. My last gesture, I hope to succeed. I do not want to leave my family. If I succeed, I will take them with me.”

Officers say they believe the shooting took place two days ago.

Mixed feeling:

How sad...

What a jerk...

How arrogant of the father to decide for others...

The father was probably in serious psychological distress and in his state thought this was the best option and was doing a good thing.

Don't be so quick to judge,

may they rest in peace

I totally agree with you. "What a fool!" or "How desperate!" would have been more appropriate than "what a jerk", OK. I just reacted a chaud. This being said, I am not judging; I am merely expressing my view of this tragedy. I do not dispute that fact that it terribly sad and that the guy must have been in great distress but is this an excuse?

If you do not want them anymore, bring them to the nearest police station and ask for a receipt. The should take care of them. Make sure to carry the guns in a a bag and not in your hands!!! Just in case they'd misinterpret your intentions
