"World" in WRS is "Anglophone World"?

I listen to WRS strictly on the weekday mornings and evenings, on my way to and from the office. I can understand that the station broadcasts only in English (although I have the recollection that WRG years back did have also programmes in Spanish). But why is the music on WRS limited to anglophone pop music? WRS listeners are not all British-American young adults with a narrow music taste! Give us jazz, world (!) music, Swedish rock, Indian pop, Ethiopian jazz - but not always these latest hits or pop evergreens.

The text you are quoting:

I agree that it would be nice to hear more Jazz and world music on WRS. but as they don't, I listen too a few swiss stations for this.

About WRS, why do'nt you go to there website and ask there, maybe Glocals is not best blog to make suggestions that would infact gain results.

WRS is virtually a Public radio station, so if there is greater 'non anglophone pop music' interests, i think you and your targeted audience needs to make a case why there shoudl be more diverse programming. I would welcome more indi rock, jazz, etc.

I however feel comment is very jeallous or insulting to the many highly educated, and well travelled 'All British-American young adults with a narrow music taste'. Many Brits-Americans in geneva region are infact 2nd or 3rd Generation immigrants to the UK/USA that very much appreciate indo-asian, East european/russian, Rai/North African, Indian, Asian, Jazz, world music, Latin, etc.

And they also love Swedish  'ABBA' rock Tongue out heheheehehe.
