Zurich - Wednesday Night Fever - Name change

Hiya folks,

I have been organizing the midweek drinks in the name of Wednesday Night Fever (WNF) for a year and this Wednesday we just celebrated the 1st anniversary.

These meets are now more like an "expat family" get together and I would like to rename it to something more friendly, since the whole idea of these evenings is  "THE MOST FRIENDLY PARTY IN TOWN" where everybody can walk in an talk to EVERYBODY (since the entire bar is just for us and all glocalers in there)without any hesitation.

I would like you guys to come up with suggestions/ideas for the new name!

Who is going to take the lead?

Slightly adapting your previous idea:

  • Every day is like Wednesday -- Moz
  • Manic Wednesday -- The Bangles
  • I don't like Wednesdays -- The Boomtown RatsBlue Wednesday -- New Order
  • Pleasant valley Wednesday -- The Monkees
  • Ruby Wednesday -- The Stones
  • Wednesday I'm in love -- The Cure
  • Wednesday, bloody Wednesday -- Some Dreadful Band




But far and away the best:

  • Wednesday Wednesday, Happy Days! -- No Idea who wrote it, but the theme from the Fonz.

Yo Ehsaan,

Good stuff. If your idea is to find a name that captures the idea of a friendly party where people talk with other people, here's a few ideas. None of them are too crisp, but maybe they'll inspire some folks who are more creative than I am:

  • "Speaking with Strangers" party (yes, it's what our mums told us never to do!)
  • "Talk party"
  • "Friendly party"
  • "I agree party". We're about to launch this in GVA - everyperson who comes in signs a symbolic contract at the door, saying he/she agrees to speak with new people during the night. The contract of course is not a real one, it's just a way to signal to everyone there that we're all here for the same reason - meeting more friendly people (and then dancing & drinking too!)

That's it for now...
