You raise a few points. Here goes:
1. Is Berlitz a good school?
We did serious market research amongst people who took lessons in Berlitz, in Inlingua (where you work), and in other schools. The over riding response was that Berlitz got the highest feedback.
2. We do get money from our partners for these offers (as we made clear in the Email 4 weeks ago, and as clearly stated in the offer's Terms and Conditions). We use this money to cover some of the costs of developing GoL, thus allowing us to keep GoL free. Does this ruin the friendly aspect of GoL? We hope not, and frankly - I do not see why it should. But we're open to hear any any feedback on this.

This is a somehow re-starting an old discussion we had around March/April already, and I am happy to see that some of things/input we gave at that time have been taking into account (especially the 'transparency regarding money GOL might take from deal like this). ...
So ... here you have my 2 cents to this topic now that the deals have been made.
1) Do this deal ruin the friendly spirit? Honestly .. I don't think so. The concept of being friendly is meeting new ppl, helping and advicing them based on what we know. We used to give address/advices/names of shops to ppl that were asking in the were and how forum anyway and I beleive we are still free to do it, even if we advise something that doesn't have a deal with GOL or is a competitor (am I right??). So if someone asks, we will be friendly and give them all the infos and a wide range of options he can choose from, including the companieswith which GOL has deals. Having those pre-arranged deals will only improve the life of the ones that will decide to use thos companies.
2) Regarding the language school. I agree with you that probabily Berlizt cannot be called 'the best' school in town (typical principle of advertising, never say u are the best cause it can't be proved) .. but at the same time you can't just go and say it's no good. I took language courses there and in other schools here, and so have many of my friends, and each of us have a different ranking based on what style we like, value for money, what teacher did we end up having ... etc etc etc.
So .. if Berlitiz got high feedack (for whatever reason) and that is the school the GOL gang has the deal with .. all the better for the ones that like the school and wants to go there.
In the end, Thumbs up for the deals, thanks guys! and thanks for making all the terms and conditions so transparent. I think its a good idea, and it won't hurt the friendly spirit :)
