Poor you!!  First off...as hard as it may be..DO NOT SCRATCH!!  Next..stay cool..not easy in the warm weather today :)  cover the area in cold damp towels.

Also really good is a luke warm (not hot) bath with oatmeal added. If you can't find oatmeal, grind up normal oats and add to bath.

Good luck, hope you feel better soon!

Get yourself some calamine lotion and anithistamine from the pharmacy...that will sort you out.  I have had chicken pox and shingles...not nice....I'd maybe send someone else out to the pharmacy though as it might not be nice for you to have people run away from you on the street :-) Best of luck and remember not to scratch.

Oh god i sympathise.  The good news is once the spots come out your body is already dealing with it so you are half recovered already (remember that in the night when your head is on fire).  It'll only go on a couple of days before it subsides, honest guv.  Calalmine lotion will temporarily help, there is also a syrup that works quite well for a while - no idea what the brand name is in this country but its proper name is chlorphenamine maleate if you ask at the pharmacy.  Its a general relief against allergies, heat rash etc and works well with chicken pox.  All the best!!

For now I would stay away from soap...soap dries out the skin which will just make it itch even more.  Use wet wipes for under arms and other private bits Embarassed and leave the soap till everything has cleared up. Plus it's not like you'll be going anywhere in this condition anyway so you're allowed to be stinky Laughing

the motivation for you NOT to itch is that ONLY itching the spots and picking the scabs will make you scar... if you can bear it and motivate yourself not to be scarred for life then you will be fine.

happy healing...

also luke warm baths with lots of sea salt helped me..sea salt is a natural healer, and afterwards use calomine lotion liberally everywhere... the take a antihistamine, and watch the football :-)

you'll be fine ina week...you'll see.
